ENERGY ENGINEER: OPTIMISATION (MM) - NOODSBERG & SEZELA

Requirements:
• Support the Maintenance Manager and Reliability Engineer by giving input into maintenance strategies and troubleshooting on heavy, critical and/or energy intensive mechanical equipment. • Support the Factory Manager and Production Shift Managers with input into building operational best practises of the above equipment. • Work together with Group Manufacturing Energy Specialist and Process Specialists to develop and implement pilot and scaling activities for the Boiler Efficiency, Steam Optimisation and Extraction (Recoveries) initiatives. • Support teams through coaching on Operational Excellence principles, new ways of working – Safety, knowledge management, LMC, team meetings, VM, 5S, iAMP. • Developing and maintaining of mass and energy balances, including OPIs. • Assist with the development of process and plant designs in energy optimisation. • Develop, maintain and/or improve mill setting optimisation systems • Identify and assess the technical suitability of new energy technologies which can bring about step-changes in performance and economic benefit. • Collaborate with ISA sites to identify, develop, document and share new technology and best practices. • Support Develop and support standards, specifications, works instruction, procedures, tools and templates for new ways of working around heavy and critical mechanical equipment such as (but not limited to) mills, boilers and shredders. • Provide technical and leadership guidance on restoring equipment back to standard. • Assist with determining operational strategies, settings and set points for optimal plant performance (e.g. mill settings, crush set points and imbibition rates). • Develop tools, such as dashboards and templates, for the monitoring and tracking of plant and site performance. • Build and maintain site energy efficiency awareness on the floor and amongst site management. • Provide support and input in to Technical Risk management best practises for business continuity and building a solid reputation. E.g. Boiler Feed Water treatment, boiler statutory inspections.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Energy Engineer in the Optimisation Department based in Sezela and Noodsberg. The position reports to the Optimisation Manger: iAmp The successful incumbent will be responsible for providing specialised technical operations and maintenance support to site within the space of the heavy engineering and critical mechanical equipment performance which will ultimately improve the site’s recoveries and energy utilization capabilities.
Group Estate Agriculture Head

- Develops the medium and long term Estate Agriculture Strategy aiming to commercialise and modernise the company farming operations - Ensures required quantity, productivity and quality of inputs and outputs is achieved at optimal cost to improve sustainable profitability - Oversees, sets and assures group-wide internal and external minimum standards and processes for crop production, agronomy, engineering, farming systems and innovation - Builds local country and site Estate Agriculture capability with appropriate people, processes, systems, training and technology development to reduce reliance on and assistance from Group Office - Oversees provision of technical expertise to Grower Agriculture through respective CoEs in Estate Agriculture - Provides input into key decisions and reports around Illovo that require Agriculture expertise (e.g., capex policies / prioritisation, procurement, contracts, insurance, technology, process standardisation, ecological resilience) - Oversees and signs off on regular internal / external benchmarking required to support continuous improvement - Ensures best practices and minimum standards/ processes are easily accessible and regularly updated on Illovo platforms (catering for Group Office and Country operations) - Effectively leads a team of technical Agriculture specialists, managing talent and performance management for the function - Provides world class learning, coaching, support and development for Agriculture Management - Supports the country operations with best talent placement in critical Estate Agriculture roles across the organisation - Holds budget accountability for Group Estate Agriculture.
